Dates have been cultivated for over 5,000 years, with thousands of varieties found globally each varying in flavor, texture, color, and size. Though Medjool and Deglet Noor are the most well known, there are countless others to explore, including unusual heirloom varieties, many of which are native to California. Our Heirloom series is a celebration of that date diversity giving date connoisseurs and curious date fans alike the opportunity to explore lesser known rare and unusual varieties. The current assorted medley includes: - Abbada, a long slender black date from Brawley, California - Cotton Candy, a firm and flavorful medium sized date with a unique flavor reminiscent of cotton candy grapes - Barhi, an Iraqi date, round and meltingly soft with a bright sweet flavor, always a favorite One pound box, whole un-pitted dates. Grown in the USA. Supplies are limited this season as we launch these for retail, but will a larger supply this Fall with the 2026 Harvest.
